Multi-car road traffic collision on A68 at Soutra.

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service use hydraulic cutting tools to rescue people trapped in wreckage.

Crews from Newcraighall, Lauder and Dalkeith fire stations were called to a road traffic collision at Soutra Hill on the A68 shortly after 5pm yesterday (Monday 26th August).

Three men and two women were cut free from two of the cars. Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roofs of the stricken vehicles.

The occupants rescued from the vehicles were taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
