Firefighters dealt with a fire at a fish and chip shop in Inverness

Fire broke out in the early hours of Saturday


Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to deal with a fire at the Codfather fish and chip shop in Inverness at the weekend.

The fire, which was reported at around 2am on 24 August 2013, was located behind a wall and within the roof void in the single storey building. The shop is situated in the city's Westhill area.

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire which caused damage to the wall and ceiling. The remainder of the property also suffered smoke damage.

SFRS sent two appliances from Inverness to deal with the incident and crews left the scene at 3.49am.

The adjoining properties were not damaged.
