Man dies in Dumfries and Galloway crash

Driver loses life after crash with truck.


A man lost his life in a collision between his car and a truck on a rural road in Dumfries on Saturday (June 22).

All three emergency services were called to the scene of the collision, which took place on the A714 shortly before 5pm.

The driver of the car - a silver Honda - died at the scene. Firefighters worked to make the scene safe and recovered the man's body.

Ambulance crews provided treatment to the male driver of the truck, who was not trapped within his vehicle. 

Police Scotland officers closed the road to conduct an investigation and appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
