The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite applications for the post of Health, Safety & Wellbeing Admin Assistant on a part-time basis of 35 hours over a 2 week period - the working pattern for the role is detailed within the attached Recruitment Information Pack.

Working within a busy team, the post holder is responsible for effective administrative support across the Service Delivery Area’s Health and Wellbeing (HW) Department in order to ensure the effective delivery of Health and Wellbeing activities. On this basis, you should have previous experience working in a confidential environment as well as running a variety of reports from management information systems.

Previous administrative experience, with evidence of strong customer service skills is essential along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, in particular Word and Excel.

Applicants must be able to work on their own initiative, prioritise workload and be able to meet tight deadlines in a fast changing environment whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail. You will need to be self-motivated and have excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills coupled with a flexible approach.

Applicants are advised that this post is currently based at McDonald Road, Edinburgh and is scheduled to transfer to SFRS East Service Delivery Area HQ at Newbridge, Edinburgh in 2018.

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with the SFRS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.
