Service Delivery Review
Details about what the Service Delivery Review is, why we need to make a change, and how the public and staff were consulted.
Details on how the public shared their views with us
The Service Delivery Review public consultation ran for 12 weeks between June and September 2025.
More than 800 people attended our public meetings and drop-in sessions. We received more than 3,700 survey responses on the proposed changes to more than 30 fire stations across Scotland.
The original timeline was to present recommendations to the SFRS Board for final decision by December 2025, however this has been delayed work progresses and all feedback is analysed alongside operational evidence.
We are now taking time to analyse and consider the findings, and a report will go to SFRS Board for a final decision by the end of June 2026.
The online survey has now closed.
The consultation document provides lots of information about the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and why we need to change.
The document, which is in a PDF format, also lists all 23 options for change across Scotland, as well as the pros and cons of each one.
We held a series of public meetings for communities potentially impacted by the proposals for change.
There were a mix of meetings types, which included in-person, online, and drop-in sessions.
