Retained Recruitment Ardrossan

A recruitment open night for retained firefighters in Ardrossan has been hailed a great success.
The campaign
saw 40 members of the community visit the station on Tuesday, June 27 to find out more about the role of a retained firefighter.
Senior Managers for the station will now select successful candidates from a pool of 20.
Crew Manager Stephen Park said: “On behalf of the unit, I’d like to thank everyone who gave up their time to visit the fire station and enquire about the role of a retained firefighter.
“We were extremely encouraged by the enthusiasm and interest from those who attended and hope that as a result of the evening we can fill the vacancies and continue to protect our local communities.
“It’s much easier to learn about what a position like this entails from speaking to those who do the job and I hope that many of those who attended will be encouraged to apply.”
But, it’s not only Ardrossan who could receive new recruits, some candidates who lived closer to Dalry Fire Station will now be put forward for selection.
Station Manager Jim Anderson added: “I want to extend a massive thank you to everyone who attended the open day at Ardrossan.
“Incredibly we have also managed to find potential recruits for Dalry which further shows the success of this campaign.
“The support from the local community has been fantastic and will help continue to keep the area safe.”
