Firefighters rescue man from Edinburgh City Bypass RTC

The crash occurred just past the Gilmerton junction

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called at 7.21pm on Friday 26 August to reports of a road traffic collision on the Edinburgh City Bypass.

The crash occured just past the Gilmerton junction and involved three cars.

Four appliances and one heavy rescue vehicle were sent to the scene of the crash and firefighters helped to cut one man free from his vehicle. He was later taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

A further two people were taken to hospital as a precuationary measure.
