Fatal fire in Milngavie

Firefighters removed a man, a woman and a child from a house but it was later confirmed the man did not survive.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews attended a serious fire in Milngavie in the early hours of Sunday, 14 August.
A 999 call reporting a fire at a property in Catter Gardens was received around 1:55am and three fire engines were immediately sent in response.
Firefighters reached the scene within five minutes and were confronted with an already well-developed fire.
With reports people were inside the property teams in breathing apparatus were sent in to conduct a search and rescue operation.
The firefighters removed a man, a woman and a boy from the building and passed them to the care of the ambulance service, but sadly it was later confirmed that the man did not survive.
The fire was extinguished using several high pressure jets.
Specialist officers from the Fire Investigation Unit attended the scene and will work with police to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
