Woman injured in a fire at a flat in Stirling

Around 15 firefighters attended the incident.

A woman was seriously injured after a flat fire in Stirling last night (17 March).

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) crews responded to a 999 call about the fire at Robertson Place, Stirling at 7.41pm.

Firefighters from Stirling and Bridge of Allan fire stations arrived within minutes and extinguished the fire in the ground floor flat.

The female occupant of the flat had been rescued by neighbours and she was suffering from burns and severe smoke inhalation.  She was treated by Scottish Ambulance Service Paramedics on scene and was subsequently taken to Forth Valley Hospital.

Fire Investigation Officers from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Police Scotland are carrying out a joint investigation into circumstances surrounding the fire.
