SFRS freed two people from vehicle following A87 crash

Inverinate Collision

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to attend reports of a one vehicle road traffic collision on the A87, a mile north west of Inverinate yesterday at 1.29pm (21 July 2015).

Appliances from Kyle of Lochalsh, Fort Augustus and Lochcarron were all sent to the scene on the Kyle to Invermoriston road.

When crews arrived they were faced with two people trapped inside the vehicle and two others who had managed to get out.

After stabilising the vehicle crews consulted with Scottish Ambulance Service personnel and used hydraulic cutting equipment to extricate two people from the 4x4.

Both casualties were taken by road ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment to their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
