Firefighters attend a fire in a hotel in Aberfoyle

Firefighters were called to a fire at the Clachan hotel, Main street, Aberfoyle last night (26 April).

Maddiston Operations Control received the 999 call at 7.49pm reporting a fire in the roof space of the two storey hotel and immediately mobilised appliances from Aberfoyle, Balfron, Callandar and Falkirk fire stations.

The Incident Commander committed six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus to search the premise which confirmed all persons were accounted for.  Firefighters extinguished the fire using two hosereel jets and a main jet just after 9pm.

At its height twenty fire firefighters attended the incident and the cause of the fire is being investigated by the SFRS Fire Investigation Unit.

During the incident the Main street of Aberfoyle was closed by Police Scotland.
