Three hurt after road traffic collision in Shetland

Two appliances from Lerwick responded to the two vehicle collision on the A970 at Sound Hill

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to attend a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A970 at Sound Hill, Lerwick on Friday afternoon (23 January 2015).

The call was received at 3.56pm and two appliances from Lerwick were sent to scene.

The collision involved two cars. A 70-year-old was rescued from one of the vehicles using cutters, a combi tool and two rams and was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Two occupants from the other car were also taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment. Crews also used a spill kit was used to prevent fuel spill entering drains.
