Crews responded to serious road traffic collision on A952 Ellon to Mintlaw road

One person was injured and one sadly died following the collision at the Halfway House near the Toll of Birness

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene of a serious two vehicle road traffic collision near the Toll of Birness in Aberdeenshire yesterday morning (8 December 2014).

Appliances from Peterhead, Maud and Ellon attended the scene of the collision at the Halfway House on the A952 Ellon to Mintlaw road at 7.34am.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free one casualty who was placed in the care of paramedics. Sadly one person died at the scene and also required to freed from the vehicle by crews.

Police Scotland were also at the scene and carried out a full road collision investigation. The road was closed for a number of hours.
