Road traffic collision in the Scottish Borders

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a two vehicle road traffic collision in Duns in the Scottish Borders yesterday afternoon (27 November).

Operations Control Edinburgh received the call just after 1pm to the collision which involved two cars that had collided head on at Mouth bridge near Whitelaw farm.

Crews were mobilised from Coldstream and Eyemouth fire stations to the scene.  On arrival firefighters had to stabilise the vehicle before using hydraulic cutting equipment to free one female casualty trapped inside.

The female casualty was placed in the care of paramedics and taken to Borders General Hospital for further treatment.
