Appliances from Blackness Road and MacAlpine Road were at the scene of the fire in the Hilltown area of the city
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a fire in a high rise block in the Hilltown area of Dundee last night.
Control received the call to Bonnethill Court at 8.41pm and appliances from Blackness Road (2) and MacAlpine Road (2) were sent to the scene.
The fire started in a tumble drier on the fifth floor of the 14 storey block of flats and crews in breathing apparatus used one main jet to extinguish the fire.
The two occupants managed to self-evacuate prior to the arrival of the fire service and one female required oxygen treatment from crews and then treatment from paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Local Risk Manager for Dundee East, Station Manager Stuart Cuthill, said: "The crews were on scene very quickly and using their high rise procedures they soon located and extinguished the fire.
"They then used small tools to check for fire spread in the affected area inside the flat and thereafter checked the floors above as a precaution. Firefighters then made sure the flat was properly ventilated."
The occupants of the flat arranged alternative accommodation due to the fire.
