SFRS attended serious road traffic collision on the A920 at Meikle Wartle

Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A920 at Meikle Wartle on Sunday evening (22 June 2014).

The one vehicle collision happened at around 4.09pm and fire control in Aberdeen sent two appliances, one from Inverurie and one from Insch to the scene.

Firefighters used two sets of hydraulic cutting equipment and a Remscat saw to free two of the four occupants who were trapped within the vehicle. Sadly there were also two fatalities at the scene.

Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were also at the scene and police carried out a full road traffic collision investigation into the incident. The road was closed for several hours.
