Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were called to respond to reports of a fire at a scrapyard in Fraserburgh's Denmark Street in the early hours of Sunday morning (22 December 2013).

Two appliances from Fraserburgh were accompanied by one from Peterhead, one from Maud, a water carrier from Turriff, a command unit and a welfare pod.

Firefighters were faced with a well-established fire upon arrival and used four main jets to tackle the blaze. The fire was brought under control by 4am and the last appliance left the scene at around 6.45am.

A joint fire and police investigation has taken place and Police are appealing for witnesses to call them with information on 101.
