Four people managed to get themselves out of a house in the Sighthill area of Edinburgh following a fire earlier today (28 November 2013).

A fire within the kitchen on the top floor of a two storey block in Sighthill was reported to Control at around 7.25am.

Two adults and two children were already outside the property when crews arrived. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire.

The residents were checked over at the scene by paramedics and were thankfully not injured. They did not need to be taken to hospital.
