Early warning given by smoke alarm

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a kitchen fire in a home in the Bucksburn area of Aberdeen shortly before 11.00 am today (Thursday 29th August).

Two fire appliances attended the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

The alarm was raised by the presence of a working smoke alarm. This latest incident is a timely reminder of the risk of accidental fires in the home and of the importance of having a working smoke alarm.
