Car Cutting Rescue

Four people have been taken to hospital after their vehicle left the A713 Dalmellington to Castle Douglas Road in East Ayrshire and came to rest upside-down in a field on Friday (June 28).

Two children were able to leave the car unassisted but firefighters had to cut free a man and woman trapped within the stricken vehicle.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: "We were called to the scene of a single vehicle road traffic incident around 11:30am and two appliances were sent from Dalmellington Community Fire Station.

"Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to rescue a man and woman from the vehicle and provided assistance to all four casualties, who appeared to have sustained superficial wounds.

"They were passed to the care of paramedics and taken by ambulance to Ayr Hospital for precautionary check-ups."
