Firefighters extinguish caravan fire at Kirriemuir
Two fire appliances from Kirriemuir station were called to an incident just after 1am this morning (Monday 29 th April) following reports of a caravan on fire at Kirriemuir in Angus.
Whilst en-route to the incident a further call was received at 1.10am reporting that the fire had spread to a neighbouring property. A further two appliances from Forfar station and the incident command unit from Dundee were also mobilised to the incident.
Crews were faced with a caravan which was well alight and a fire which had spread to the joining property. Police Scotland evacuated the neighbouring properties as a precautionary measure.
Two firefighters wearing full breathing apparatus entered the cottage to tackle the blaze whilst firefighters worked to extinguish the caravan fire. The hard work and efforts of the crews resulted in the fire being extinguished just after 2.50am this morning.
A joint investigation with Police Scotland will take place to establish the cause of the fire.
